News Release: Fall 2008
Hello! I just returned from Guadalajara. I made the trip along with David Treadwell from Children International. We met at Children International’s office in Guadalajara. CI is an organization that helps poor children and their families. Like us, they deeply care about children and their health. During my stay, I visited three community health centers and the homes of sponsored children. The purpose of my visit was to possibly partner with CI to supply the essential medicines for the children in these three community centers.
I did everything I could to hold back the tears while visiting these needy children. These people live in the very poor city slums around the outer areas of Guadalajara. I have seen pictures of the city slum areas but never visited families that live there. They live in small two room quarters with dirt floors and holes in the roofs. The amazing thing, which was a surprise to me, was that these people were happy and pleasant. They welcomed me into their homes. They offered me a part of what little they had to eat. I wanted to personally help each one of them. When I look into the eyes of needy children, I want to bring them all home with me, but I know I cannot. They deserve basic health care, they deserve a future. We live like kings compared to them, we are blessed.
The children in Mexico, Central African Republic, Honduras, Nicaragua, Kenya, Haiti, Liberia, Cote D’ Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo and all other developing countries, have so many needs, I can’t list them all. We are supplying the essential medicines for over 300,000 children in 8 different countries at this time, and we want to continue to help these children and many more, but I need your help and prayers to make my vision a reality.
Please consider monthly support or a one-time donation. Also, take the time to look at our entire web site. The How We Work page does a perfect job of describing what we do.
